The Toyota Cheetahs winger, Daniel Kasende, will face a lengthy period on the sidelines after sustaining a knee injury against the Sharks last week.

Kasende will be out of action for at least ten weeks following the injury.

The exciting speedster damaged his LCL while attempting a tackle on Anthony Volmink during their 40-34 win.

Kasende told OFM Sport that he will be undergoing surgery to repair the damage.

“I've got to go in for an operation and then I will be out for about ten weeks.

“It is quite a bummer for me. Like you said I was really starting to get into my stride and enjoying my new journey here at the Cheetahs.

“It's a part of the game and now I just have to focus on my recovery.”

Meanwhile, the coach Hawies Fourie will name his side to face Baia Mare on Thursday morning.

Fourie will have selection headaches especially when it comes to choosing his wingers. He will in all likelihood select Mosolwa Mafuma and can opt to pick either David Brits or Evardi Boshoff.

At the moment Enver Brandt and Rosko Specman are also out injured, leaving Fourie with little depth in the back-three. Craig Barry and Malcolm Jaer are also on the injury list.

Friday’s game between the Cheetahs and Baia Mare kicks off at the Toyota Stadium kicks off at 18:15.
