Griffons welcome facing international teams─── MORGAN PIEK 13:58 Thu, 24 Feb 2022
The Griffons welcome facing international competition in the Currie Cup First Division that will be getting underway in the first week of April.
The Griffons played in two warm-up games against the Griquas over the past few weeks and they will still face the Cheetahs and Pumas in two additional games.
The First Division will include Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Georgia.
The coach of the Griffons, Jacques Juries, told OFM Sport that the international teams will add spice to the competition.
“We don't have a lot of footage on them and we will be playing them early in the season.
“They are a little bit unknown but we will try and learn and see where we can outperform them.
“We are expecting more or less the same from them as we did in 2019 from the Jaguares XV (Argentina).
“They will be physical, fit, and a strong setpiece. They will challenge us with all of these aspects.”
SA Rugby is yet to confirm the fixtures for the First Division.
