Cheetahs tackle the Griffons on Friday─── MORGAN PIEK 09:53 Wed, 09 Mar 2022
The Toyota Cheetahs and the Griffons will battle it out on Friday in Bloemfontein in a contact session.
For the Griffons the session will be used as part of their preparations for upcoming Currie Cup First Division, while for the Cheetahs they want to practice different scenarios in a game, while also giving their players so much needed time off the field.
Emphasis will be placed on the Cheetahs' setpiece as well as their defence.
The Cheetahs coach, Hawies Fourie, told OFM Sport that he is sure his players look forward to it.
“The second 40-minute session will be more in the form of a game, while the first 40-minutes will be about the scrums, lineouts and defence.
“We will give everyone on the group that hasn't played yet, a run. I think most of them are looking forward to that.
“It's tough to just train, gym, run and all the conditioning and then you don't get game time.
“It will be a good exercise for all of us.”
The Cheetahs host Western Province next Wednesday at the Toyota Stadium.
