The confident Griquas suffered a 53-27 defeat at the hands of the Bulls last week, while in Bloemfontein the Lions were hammered 66-14 by the Toyota Cheetahs.

The coach, Pieter Bergh, told OFM Sport that their opponents will arrive with a purpose. The Peacock Blues feel that there were a lot of positives to take from their performance against the loaded Bulls last week.

“The most important thing is not to underestimate the Lions,” said Bergh.

“They will come here desperate for a win and they will also have a lot of energy and enthusiasm.

“It's important that we are ready and put them under pressure. We know that if we play well and are able to execute under pressure then we can made it very difficult for them next Wednesday.”

Bergh added that they can build on the positives from their defeat to the Bulls on the weekend.

“We created a lot of opportunities against a very good Bulls team. Our setpiece was very good and we got our first four-try bonus point against them.

“It's important that we build on that momentum on attack and fix the errors in defence.”
