The Cheetahs will bring something different - Juries─── MORGAN PIEK 15:26 Thu, 10 Mar 2022
The Griffons are relishing the opportunity to face the Toyota Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Friday in a contact session.
The two teams will use the exercise as preparation for the Currie Cup.
The Cheetahs will field their players who have had limited game time, while for the Griffons it is a warm-up ahead of the Currie Cup First Division that gets underway next month.
In the last month the team from Welkom also faced the Griquas in home and away games.
The Griffons coach, Jacques Juries, told OFM Sport that it is a good opportunity.
“The Cheetahs will bring something different that we will need to prepare for.
“They've got a very big driving maul and there setpieces in general are very good.
“The way the play, especially their attacking play will help us defend and how to counter.
“They've got a similar brand to the teams from the southern side, like the South Western Districts, “Boland Cavaliers and the Eastern Province Elephants.”
The Cheetahs and Griffons battle it out from 9:30 on Friday morning at the Toyota Stadium.
