We've been friends for sort of our whole life - Janse van Rensburg─── MORGAN PIEK 07:20 Tue, 03 May 2022
The Rugby ATL hooker, Marko Janse van Rensburg, is looking forward to joining the Toyota Cheetahs later in the year.
The former Pumas player is most excited to play with the Cheetahs loose-forward, Jeandré Rudolph, again.
Janse van Rensburg, who played in 50 games for the Pumas, told OFM Sport that he has a long history with Rudolph.
“I will be joining the Cheetahs and I am very excited.
“I played some rugby with Jeandré in the University sides. I played against him a lot when I played for Maties and he played for the Puk (NWU Eagles).
“Two years before I came over to the United States to play rugby, here at Atlanta, I played with Jeandré and we are also really good mates.
“We've been friends for sort of our whole life, so it's going to be good to be in the same team as him again.”
Meanwhile, the Cheetahs will be in action again this week when they tackle the Lions in Johannesburg in the Currie Cup.
Friday’s game between the Lions and Cheetahs at Ellis Park kicks off at 19:00.
