The North West Dragons are delighted to have three of their players earn national contracts with the Proteas Women’s cricket team for the 2022/23 season.
The opening batter, Lizelle Lee, and the seamer Masabata Klaas each earned contract renewals while the batter, Tazmin Brits, has received her first-ever national contract.
CEO of North West Cricket told OFM Sport that these three are flying the flag high for the union.
“We are delighted to have three ladies who been awarded with national contracts, with Lizelle Lee, Masabata Klaas and Tazmin Brits.
“Especially Tazmin has been rewarded following a couple of years of consistent performances at provincial level and eventually also for the Proteas where her performances were up to standard.
“We are very proud of those three ladies and we looking forward to their performances for the upcoming season.”
Brits was set to compete in the 2012 London Olympics in the javelin for South Africa, however, the dream was cut short due to a car accident in 2011, which left her in hospital for three months.
The Proteas will attend a training camp in Pretoria on Thursday in preparation for the upcoming tour to England.
