The Griquas are still in contention for a spot in the semi-finals of the Currie Cup for a second year in a row, however, the Pumas are breathing down their necks.

The fifth placed Pumas trail the Peacock Blues by five points on the log, but the team from Nelspruit does have a game in hand.

Pieterse told OFM Sport that a win this weekend will be important.

“I think it's vital for us to get points out of this game, no matter what.

“It's a very important game for us because the Pumas are breathing down our necks. They are playing against the Sharks this weekend.

“Every point is vital for both of us. We need to go to Loftus and we need to come away with points from this game.”

Saturday’s game between the Bulls and Griquas at Loftus Versfeld kicks off at 17:00.
