Janco Uys starts at hooker while Johan Mulder will do duty at scrumhalf. The pair replaces Simon Westraadt and Stefan Ungerer who were concussed last week against the Pumas in Nelspruit.

Zander du Plessis also returns from his concussion protocol and will slot in at flyhalf while the seasoned George Whitehead rotates to the bench.

The Griquas coach, Pieter Bergh, told OFM Sport that he is happy to have settled combinations.

“The last time we played at Loftus we made that change at half time, where we moved Zander du Plessis to flyhalf and we moved Rynhardt Jonker to inside centre and brought Ashlon Davids on.

“In that second half our attack really clicked and it was some of the best rugby we played all year.

“We went with that same combination against the Cheetahs and we obviously had a very hard game that day by scoring seven tries against them in Kimberley.”

Friday night’s semi-final at Loftus Versfeld kicks off at 19:00.
