The Griquas will name their side for Saturday’s Currie Cup final against the Pumas in Kimberley at noon on Thursday.

The Peacock Blues do have some injury concerns ahead of the final and it also remains to be seen if the captain Niel Otto has been cleared to play.

Should Otto not be cleared to play, the centre Sango Xamlashe will be the captain for the final.

Apart from one or two injuries it his highly doubtful that the coach Pieter Bergh will change what has been working.

Meanwhile, the flyhalf George Whitehead told OFM Sport that a home final is special.

“It's an absolute privilege to play in Kimberley in front of a home crowd.

“As a squad we believed that it would always be possible for us to play in a home final.

“If we ended third on the log and some of the results went our way, we could end up playing in a home final in Kimberley.

“It's very special for us as a team and we are really looking forward to playing in the final on Saturday.”

Furthermore a capacity crowd is expected as the Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted, which limited stadiums to just 50%.

Saturday’s final between the Griquas and Pumas kicks off at 15:00.
