Biggar fit for 3rd Test, Adams starts─── MORGAN PIEK 13:56 Thu, 14 Jul 2022
Wales have made just one change to their starting XV for Saturday's third and final Test against the Springboks in Cape Town.
The good news for the Welsh is that the captain, Dan Biggar, has been declared fit for the Test after sustaining a shoulder injury during their 13-12 win against the Springboks in the 2nd Test in Bloemfontein.
The only change to the starting side is on the wing where Josh Adams replaces the injured Alex Cuthbert.
Adams replaced Cuthbert during the first half in Bloemfontein and he ended up being one of the heroes for Wales by scoring the match-winning try.
Owen Watkin comes onto the bench as cover for Adams and Louis Rees-Zammit.
Adams said it's imperative that the Dragons take their chances when it comes their way.
“With some chances, we have been disappointed and when you look back over the two Tests, there were opportunities we didn't quite take," Adams said.
“It's frustrating for us as backs, so this week, we'll try to be as clinical as we can be and take the chances as and when they come.”
The winger added that it’s the same venue as the third Test of the 2022 British & Irish Lions tour and they need to make sure that on Saturday they rewrite the history books.
“It’s the same stadium as well, but I hope things go better than they did last year,” Adams said.
“South Africa is a great side and they've shown that over the past two Tests. Both games have been close and I have no doubt it'll be the same again on Saturday.
“It's important that we focus our minds on becoming the first Welsh side to win a Test series here, so it's important we focus on that.”
Saturday’s Test at the Cape Town Stadium kicks off at 17:05.
