You've got to cut out the small mistakes - Bergh─── MORGAN PIEK 08:10 Tue, 04 Oct 2022
The Griquas have made a couple of changes ahead of their game against the Bulls XV on Wednesday in Bloemfontein.
The Griquas will be targeting a much more clinical performance after they lost 54-7 to Emerging Ireland last week Friday.
The only change in the backline is at scrumhalf with Johan Mulder starting, while upfront there are five changes.
The Griquas coach, Pieter Bergh, said that they had learnt their lesson against the clinical Irish.
“You get pushed for mistakes and I thought that they were very good playing off our errors,” said Bergh.
“Their turnover from defence to attack was very good. Being pushed for mistakes at this level is the biggest lesson that we learnt. If you make mistakes at this level, you get punished and the better the team the harder they punish you.
“That was the biggest thing we took from the game. You've got to cut out the small mistakes and that comes from just doing your basics well.”
Wednesday’s match between the Griquas and the Bulls at the Toyota Stadium kicks off at 19:00.
Griquas - 15 Malcolm Jaer, 14 Raegan Oranje, 13 Jay-Cee Nel, 12 Tertius Kruger, 11 Luther Obi, 10 Eddie Fouché, 9 Johan Mulder, 8 Michael Amiras, 7 Carl Els, 6 Niel Otto (captain), Albert Liebenberg, 4 Godfrey Muzanargwo, 3 Janu Botha, 2 Janco Uys, 1 Kudzwai Dube.
Replacements - 16 Sean Swart, 17 Melusi Mthabela, 18 Justin Forwood, 19 Johan Retief, 20 Thabo Ndimande, 21 Stephan Smit, 22 George Whitehead, 23 Vaughen Isaacs.
