To date the Griffons have managed just one win and that was against the Bulls in Welkom, but they have pushed a couple of teams really hard in the competition.

The Griquas in the Diamond City will be a totally different kettle of fish, but they take confidence from recent wins against the Peacock Blues in warm-up games.

The Griffons flanker, Jean Pretorius, who captained the team against the Pumas last week, told OFM Sport that they are braced for a tough challenge.

“We are looking forward to the weekend and once again it is going to be a tough game, said Pretorius.

“It's definitely one of the games that we want to collect points in, but we know that it is not going to be easy.

“The weeks prep has gone really well and I know the guys are ready for Sunday and we look forward to the challenge.”

Sunday’s match between the Griquas and Griffons in Kimberley kicks off at 14:00.
