Brodie Retallick, Mark Telea, Samisoni Taukei’aho and Will Jordan will make their return to the side.

The inside centre, Jordie Barrett, will be playing in his 50th Test, while the seasoned flanker, Sam Cane, will once again lead the team.

The Crusaders loosehead prop Tamaiti Williams has been named on the bench for what will be his All Blacks debut.

The last time the All Blacks and Springboks battled it out in New Zealand was on 27 July 2019 and the Wespac Stadium in Wellington, with this encounter ending in a 16-16 draw.

The All Blacks coach, Ian Foster, said any Test against the Springboks is a big one and it will be a significant challenge that awaits.

“Any Test against South Africa is a special occasion,” said Foster.

“There is a lot of respect between the two nations and that usually translates to an epic battle on the field.

“This will be a significant challenge and we are determined to grow after a solid start to the Rugby Championship in Argentina last week.

“It has been four years since we last played South Africa here in New Zealand so that also makes it special.”

Saturday’s Test at the MT Smart Stadium kicks off at 9:05.
