I'm just finding my way in the squad - Williams─── MORGAN PIEK 08:26 Tue, 18 Jul 2023
The Springbok will be looking to take the positives from their defeat to the All Blacks on Saturday as they focus on their rest of their build-up to the Rugby World Cup in France.
On Saturday the All Blacks beat the Springboks 35-20.
The All Blacks did however expose the Springboks discipline and defence while they were also superb in neutralising the Boks aerial threat.
The scrumhalf, Grant Williams, said it’s important to dial into the positives going forward.
“If you look at coaches in Rassie Erasmus, Jacques Nienaber and Mzwandile Stick, just everyone backing me, and the guys around me. That makes a big difference,” said the Sharks halfback.
"I am just happy that they back me to go out and play - I've been part of the setup for quite some time and I am learning a lot from the more experienced scrumhalves.
"I'm just finding my way in the squad.
"We will take out some positives and build on our game. I think we could have been better in the aerial battle. It’s something small the All Blacks changed in their own game.
“There's lots of learning. I don't know if I will be involved in the next couple of games, but I'm assuming I will be part of the bigger group and I need to fulfil my role in the squad and that's what I am doing at the moment.”
Next week Saturday the Springboks will tackle Argentina at Ellis Park, with this Rugby Championship Test kicking off at 17:05.
