Ireland wary of dangerous Libbok─── MORGAN PIEK 13:46 Wed, 20 Sep 2023
“He’s kind of an all-round player skill-wise, and someone who is gifted with that. He’s a really good player and someone we’re going to have to watch out for.”
Ireland are wary of the Springbok flyhalf, Manie Libbok, ahead of this weekend’s massive Rugby World Cup clash in Paris.
Libbok has cracked the nod and will start as the backline marshal in the must-win Pool B fixture, despite Handré Pollard joining the team earlier in the week as an injury replacement.
The only criticism about Libbok’s game is his kicking off the tee, however, has shown before in important games he knows how to slot vital kicks.
The Ireland and Munster flyhalf, Jack Crowley, said that the Stormers pivot is a definite threat.
“I think he’s the quality that you see week in, week out,” said the you flyhalf who is vying for the same jersey at Johnny Sexton.
“The skills that he has, the kicking you saw against Scotland, the passing ability of him, and then his feet and his pace as well is also a massive strength of his.
“He’s kind of an all-round player skill-wise, and someone who is gifted with that. He’s a really good player and someone we’re going to have to watch out for.”
Saturday’s Test at Stade de France kicks off at 21:00.
