Cheetahs make few changes for last Force game─── MORGAN PIEK 08:46 Thu, 05 Oct 2023
“We are just going into the game knowing what we want to achieve from it and also begin mindful that at the end of the year will be going into the EPCR Challenge Cup.”
The Toyota Cheetahs have made two personnel changes and one positional switch to their team to face the Western Force in Claremont on Saturday.
Following their defeat last week the Cheetahs wil want to return to winning ways to start rebuilding on their momentum ahead of the European Challenge Cup. Before the Cheetahs head back to Europe they only have this game to play, as well as a warm-up match against the Griffons in Bloemfontein and against the Lions in Johannesburg.
In the backline, Evardi Boshoff will start at outside centre, with Robert Ebersohn moving to the bench.
Up front, Jeandré Rudolph, starts at 8th-man, with Friedle Olivier moving to the flank. Siba Qoma who started at flank during last week’s 30-27 defeat drops out of the squad.
On the bench, Abner van Reenen, comes into the match 23 for a five-three split. The versatile Raegan Oranje, who played off the bench a week against in Mandurah also misses out on selection for the second match.
The Cheetahs captain, Victor Sekekete, told OFM Sport that they have certain objectives they want to achieve in the game.
“At this point, from our side there is not much to complain about,” said Sekekete.
“We are just going into the game knowing what we want to achieve from it and also begin mindful that at the end of the year will be going into the EPCR Challenge Cup.”
“We want to be ready for all the games and make sure that all the plans and what we want to do is already set.”
