De Wet says last year, a lot of 50/50 passes and cross-field kicks bounced in their favour, but at the moment, the team is trying to get the same precision back.

“As individuals we have to take responsibility and sharpen up our game and be more lively, because that is the type of player we have on the team. They can make something out of nothing. We all know the system and everyone knows where they are supposed to be.  At the moment it’s just small tips and passes that do not go to hand. There is a lot of emphasis on it and we are working on it,” he said.

De Wet said the team is well aware that the Bulls will come for them with a vengeance, especially after their defeat against Lyon last weekend.

Meanwhile South African rugby fans can look forward to three weekends of local United Rugby Championship derbies, with all four participating teams in action over the holiday season.

The Stormers will host the Bulls in Cape Town on Saturday and the match kicks off at 19:00.
