The Toyota Cheetahs will have more clarity on the future of their head coach, Hawies Fourie, on Monday.
Fourie is expected to be named as the new head coach of the Boland Cavaliers on Monday after being shortlisted for the position.
The Cavaliers have decided on their new coach and the job has reportedly been offered to Fourie.
The former Springbok coach, Peter de Villiers, who has become of a politician of late, is also said to have been shortlisted for the job.
Fourie is contracted to the Cheetahs until 2025, but reports indicate that they will not be standing in his way.
Fourie began his coaching career at the Cavaliers, while he also represented the union as a player.
Last year Fourie led the Cheetahs to the Currie Cup title has a head coach for the first time, while he has previously won it with the team as an assistant.
Fourie took over the role from the Franco Smith in 2019, however, due to ill health, Fourie did not lead the team to the Currie Cup title in that year. Smith agreed to continue coaching the team during the successful Currie Cup campaign.
The current forwards coach, Izak van der Westhuizen, could be promoted to take over from Fourie, however, the current scrumhalf, Ruan Pienaar, is also said to come into consideration.
