Geduld excited to be back in the mix─── MORGAN PIEK 07:22 Thu, 22 Feb 2024

“Every time you are not selected, it hurts, even though the rest was good for me. Everyone in the squad is keen to play this weekend and that bodes well.”
The Springboks Sevens playmaker Justin Geduld is excited to be back with the team ahead of this weekend's Vancouver Sevens.
Geduld was one of several key and senior players rested for the recent Perth Sevens in Australia.
The Blitzboks once again fell short in Australia by finishing in fifth overall and this has dented their title chances.
The Blitzboks are in a tough pool for the Canadian leg where they will have to deal with New Zealand, and the ever-improving Ireland and Great Britain.
Geduld said the return of players such himself and Rosko Specman will add a different dynamic to their game.
“This is a nice tournament and I love coming here, despite the cold. The rest gave me a good boost, I worked hard in that time and will be ready to deliver my best this weekend.

“There is a good mood amongst the guys and when we are in a happyplace, we always play well.”
The Blitzboks will kick-off their campaign at 23:52 tomorrow night against New Zealand.
