“We have very fond memories of the Rugby World Cup warm-up Test we played against the All Blacks at Twickenham last year. The atmosphere and occasion were truly remarkable, and we are expecting a very similar experience in June.”

It has been confirmed that the Springboks will kick-off their 2024 international season against Wales.

So far eleven Tests have been confirmed for the season, with two more expected to be penned in for their traditional end of year tour.

The four-time World Champions will tackle the Welsh on 22 June at the home of English Rugby, Twickenham.

During the 2015 Rugby World Cup the Springboks beat Wales 23-19 in the quarter-finals at Twickenham.

The Springboks coach, Rassie Erasmus, said they have good memories playing at Twickenham against other them than England, and they expect a good atmosphere and fantastic support.

“We are thrilled to return to Twickenham in what will mark our first Test since the Rugby World Cup final in France,” said Erasmus.

“We have very fond memories of the Rugby World Cup warm-up Test we played against the All Blacks at Twickenham last year. The atmosphere and occasion were truly remarkable, and we are expecting a very similar experience in June.

“Playing against Wales, who we have faced there before in an exhilarating 2015 Rugby World Cup quarter-final, will bring back plenty of other memories as well.

“We may be playing on foreign territory, but we enjoy fantastic support from the expat community in London and its surrounds, as we saw last year where most of the supporters donned green and gold, so we are really looking forward to the match.”

This Test will be followed by the incoming tour with Ireland facing the Boks in Pretoria and Durban, while they will face Portugal in Bloemfontein.

The kick-off time for the Test between the Springboks and Wales in London is yet to be confirmed.
