The ITEC Knights have one foot in the semi-finals of the CSA T20 Challenge, but the job is not done yet.

On Wednesday Knights beat the Eastern Storm by 6-wickets in Bloemfontein, but they now have two very important away games lying ahead.

Gihahn Cloete led the charge with bat with a fine 73 not out, while in the bowling department Sithembile Langa was brilliant with 3/14 in his 4-overs, and the Proteas spinner, Dane Piedt, took 2/23 in his 4-overs.

On Sunday, the Knights will face the Mpumalanga Rhinos in White River and a win will secure their spot in the semi-finals. On Wednesday they will face the Northern Cape Heat in Kimberley.

The Knights assistant coach, Lotli Sesele, told OFM Sport that they are not going to settle for just reaching the semis.

“Just as we started, we want to finish,” said Sesele.

“You want to finish as good as you started and that is our motivation - we want to do well and get another two wins on the road.

“Then we'd like to see a semi-final at home, and say thank you everyone that has been a part of it. Then hopefully we can secure a home final if it could be that way.”

The Knights will also be keeping an eye on that game at Buffalo Park in East London where the Eastern Cape Iinyathi will be in action against the Northern Cape Heat.

The Heat are the biggest threat to the Knights with regards to gaining promotion back up to Division 1.

Sunday’s match at Uplands College in White River gets underway at 13:00.
