“Everything for us this week was all about consistency and continuity and just keep on working on the stuff that worked really well against the Leopards.”

The Suzuki Griquas have made a couple of changes ahead of their SA Cup round two clash against the Valke in Kempton Park.

The Peacock Blues has opted for continuity to a large degree but they have made a switch in the halfback combination with Lubabalo Dobela and Thomas Bursey starting, while Dylan Maart replaces the injured Sako Makata on the wing.

George Whitehead and Bobby Alexander, who started as the halfback pairing against the Leopards will play off the bench.

In addition, Carl Els replaces Jac van der Walt on the bench, while Jay-Cee Nel, comes in for Connor Mahony.

The Griquas assistant coach, Brendell Brand, told OFM Sport that the 88-0 win against the Leopards is history.

“Everything for us this week was all about consistency and continuity and just keep on working on the stuff that worked really well against the Leopards,” said Brand.

“Then we've also focused on one of two things that we picked up which we thought needed some attention.

“Like you said, the Valke are going to post a whole different prospect for us. A slightly different game plan and slightly different structures than the Leopards.”

Thursday’s game at the Barnard Stadium kicks off at 15:00.
