“We need to get back on the horse, and quickly. The other thing is that through the whole SA Cup we haven't fired for the full 80-minutes. Concertation for the full 80 and execution is what is required and we need to get that right.”

The Toyota Cheetahs have made six changes to their starting XV for Saturday's SA Cup round six clash against the SWD Eagles in George.

James Verity-Amm will start at fullback, while Marco Janse van Vuren starts at inside centre, and Rewan Kruger will play at scrumhalf. Kruger starts in the number nine jersey as the soon to retire Ruan Pienaar is out with an injury.

The Ospreys duo of Triston Davies and Lewis Jones will be on debut, while Schalk Ferreira starts at loosehead prop. The Welsh duo earn a start at the expense of Carl Wegner and Gideon van der Merwe who are both out with injuries as well.

The Namibian international hooker, will captain the team on the weekend as Wegner is injured and Victor Sekekete is with the Ospreys for their URC game against the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld.

Ulrich Stander, Christiaan van der Westhuizen and Andell Loubser will play off the bench.

The Cheetahs have a total of 20 players that can't come into consideration for the match because of an injury. In addition, along with Sekekete, Jeandré Rudolph and Evardi Boshoff are at the Ospreys.

The Director of Rugby, Frans Steyn, told OFM Sport a big performance is required this week.

“For me the biggest thing is that the effort needs to be there,” said Steyn.

“We need to get back on the horse, and quickly.

“The other thing is that through the whole SA Cup we haven't fired for the full 80-minutes. Concertation for the full 80 and execution is what is required and we need to get that right.”

Lewis Jones - Cheetahs

The Welsh lock, Jones, in turn told OFM Sport that they are excited about getting some game time while at the Cheetahs.

“It will be awesome - it's been a few weeks now since we've had a game,” said Jones.

“The main thing now is to keep getting a good amount of training under our belt, train well and see what happens. But we're definitely looking forward to playing.

Saturday’s game at Outeniqua Park kicks off at 15:00.
