The Stormers bounced back in a big way from their defeat to the Ospreys last week, by beating top of the log Leinster 42 - 12 in the United Rugby Championship in Cape Town on Saturday.

The Stormers made their bonus-point victory look easy by scoring five tries and Manie Libbok had a spectacular afternoon with the boot, converting four tries and putting three penalties through the posts.  English outside back Ben Loader and lock Salmaan Moerat scored for the hosts in the first half to give the Stormers a comfortable 23 – 0 lead at halftime.

Leinster came out guns blazing in the second half and scored twice, courtesy of loose forward Max Deegan and utility back, Rob Russel.

But the Stormers roared to victory with three more tries by Springbok Herschel Jantjies, Willie Engelbrecht and Warrick Galant.  Prop Neethling Fouche was Man of the Match.

The Stormers win has knocked Leinster off the top of the table.  Glasgow’s bonus-point win over Zebre Parma earlier on Saturday now sees the Scottish side hold a four-point advantage at the top with just three rounds to go.

The Stormers will play their next URC game on Friday, the 10th of May when they will face the Dragons in Newport, Wales.
