Peacock Blues target fourth-straight victory─── MORGAN PIEK 06:51 Fri, 22 Aug 2025

The Suzuki Griquas are up for the challenge that awaits them this weekend when they face the Bulls in Pretoria in a crucial fifth-round Currie Cup clash at the Tuine-Grizzlies Rugby Club.
Playing on a club field is nothing new for the Griquas, but more importantly, they’ll be chasing a fourth straight win – and victory would also secure them a place in the semi-finals.
They can, however, expect a strong response from the Bulls, who lost their last two games – against the Pumas in Pretoria and the Boland Cavaliers in Wellington.

For the Peacock Blues, it’s about sticking to what has worked for them recently and building on the momentum they’ve picked up at home with wins over Boland, Western Province and the Sharks. The Bulls will, however, present a different challenge, especially with plenty of movement expected on the log this weekend as the top six teams go head-to-head.
Coach Pieter Bergh told OFM Sport that this is a vital game and that his side is determined to collect maximum points, especially with a short turnaround before their next outing against the log-leading Toyota Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.
“It’s an important game. The top six teams are all playing each other this week, so there’s going to be a lot of movement on the log. With just three games left, every point and every result counts,” said Bergh.
“We know how important this match is, and we’re actually looking forward to playing away from home. It’ll be something different playing at the Tuine-Grizzlies Rugby Club – a new venue and a new environment.
“We’ve played on club fields before – against the Cheetahs in Bultfontein, a few months ago in Saldanha, and also in Jacobsdal. So it’s nothing new for us. We’re excited about it.
“It’s going to be tough, but we want to set the record straight, improve on a few things, and get the win. We’ll need to be at our very best this weekend.”
Sunday’s match between the Bulls and the Griquas in Pretoria kicks off at 15:00.
