PSL Officials could be facing disciplinary action.
PSL officials, Mduduzi Thwala and Abel Maphutha may be facing disciplinary action after the controversial 1 all draw between Supersport United and Wits on Saturday Evening, 27 April .
This comes after two major, questionable decisions that were made in the game, the first of which being the sending off of Supersport United Captain, Dean Furman. Furman was given a yellow card after a collision with Domingo who appeared to elbow Furman in the face. It was Dean Furman's reaction to this yellow card which earned him a red card in the 65th minute.
The second decision involved Thwala and Maphutha. Wits midfielder Terrence Dzvukamanja fired a shot at goal which came off the underside of the crossbar, bounced in-goal and then back Ronwen Williams' hands. Debate over whether the ball had crossed the line ensued which resulted in Thwala consulting linesman Abel Maphutha before the two decided not to allow a goal, which, on television reply, one could clearly see the ball crossing the line.
Poor performances, in the past, have led to suspension or demotions of PSL Officials, and SAFA's Thenda Masikhwa has said a decision will soon be reached. "Let us wait for the Review Committee to review the match and come up with recommendations."
