PSL to be decided on the final day of the season─── 07:42 Wed, 08 May 2019
We are 29 games into a 30 match PSL season and the tug-o-war for the title couldn't be more intense.
While other leagues around the world were decided earlier in the month, and perhaps last month too, the PSL title still hangs very much in the balance.
There are 2 points which separate the top two sides, Mamelodi Sundows and Orlando Pirates.
The season wasn't without it's controversy, however. Sundowns would have been sweating over a decision the PSL Disciplinary Committee had to make, just a few weeks back, after the Pretoria based side fielded an illegible Wayne Arendse against Wits. The potential penalty was a deduction of points, but "The Brazilians" survived the initial decision with PSL's DC opting not to dock points from Sundowns.
The final match day of the PSL will take place this Saturday, May 11, with both Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates having a hand on the trophy. Their tug-o-war battle for the title has been heavily contested over the last 3 weeks, and the pressure mounting on both teams. However, with all the matches kicking off at 15H00, the pressure will remain the same for both sides at kick-off.
