The National First Division Club, Ajax Cape Town, have set their sights on a Free State club in order to play in the Premier Soccer League again next season.

The Urban Warriors, who were relegated at the end of last season, have failed to gain promotion back into the PSL after finishing fourth in the NFD.

A source close to the club from the Mother City has made contact with a club from the Free State which will more than likely be Bloemfontein Celtic, as Free State Stars are in a relegation battle.

"There is a potential deal that could happen at the end of the season. Ajax are determined to push through the deal and return to the PSL next season," the source told KickOff.com.

"It could be either Free State Stars or Bloemfontein Celtic, watch this space."

Both clubs’ owners have previously indicated that they are keen to sell Celtic and Stars.

This weekend Celtic face AmaZulu, and Ea Lla Koto takes on Mamelodi Sundowns in the final round of the PSL.

The announcement is set to be made at the end of the season.
