Christiano Ronaldo hat trick sees off Switzerland─── 01:41 Thu, 06 Jun 2019
Portugal captain, Christiano Ronaldo scored a hat trick to send Portugal to the UEFA Nations League Final.
The UEFA Nations resumed on 05 June, after the end of the domestic seasons, for its last week. The tournament resumed in its semi-final stage with Portugal, Switzerland, England and the Netherlands all looking to book a place in the finals.
The first semi-final contest was played between Portugal and Switzerland. An early goal from Juventus forward, Ronaldo, saw Portugal take an early lead in the contest. The rest of the first half would remain without any additions being made to the scoreboard with both sides going into the break with the score at 1-0.
Some stern words must have been said in the Swiss locker room as the same came out blazing and equalised early in the second half.
Captain fantastic, Christiano Ronaldo, took matters into his own hands scoring in the 88th and 90th minute to complete his hat trick and send his team into the final.
The second semi-final will be played out between Netherlands and England on June 06, with the winner of that encounter going on to face Portugal in UEFA Nation's league final, which will be played on Sunday, June 09.
