It's do or die for Bafana against Morocco─── MORGAN PIEK 15:00 Mon, 01 Jul 2019
A win is a non-negotiable for Bafana Bafana on Monday evening when they face Morocco in their final Group D fixture at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Morocco are the only unbeaten team in the group and are virtually assured of advancing to the next round.
South Africa need a win, and will be hoping that Namibia can upset the Ivory Coast. Both Bafana and Ivory Coast have a win to their name, and they have the same goal difference.
Morocco has only beaten South Africa before and that was in 1998. The coach Stuart Baxter says that past records mean nothing.
“The teams weren’t the same, the coaches weren’t the same and the venues were probably not that the same, so everything changes.
“There can be certain countries that can cause problems for certain countries.
“I wish and I hope, but I am not a great believer in that. I think that we will have to make our own home.
Both of Monday nights’ Group D matches kick-off at 18:00.
