With just over a week remaining before the start of the 2019/20 Premier Soccer League season, Bloemfontein Celtic unveiled no less than 10 new signings on Thursday.


The event which also saw the club launch their new home and away strips was also used to name the captain for the season.

Celtic opted to appoint Wandisile Letlabika, Ndumiso Mabena, and Lucky Baloyi and the three co-captains for the season which will also see them playing in the MTN8.

The most notable signing in that of the Bafana Bafana and now former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Jackson Mabokgwane. The current Bafana shot-stopper, Mondli Mpoto, who is with the national team preparing for Sunday’s CHAN Qualifier against Lesotho in Maseru was also unveiled.

Another notable unveiling is that of the Lesotho international striker, Motebang Sera, who scored 18 league goals last season for his former club, Matlama FC.

The name of the former SA U23 midfielder, Andile Fikizolo, was also met with great enthusiasm. The former Free State Stars and Congolese international Harris Tchilimbou was the first player signed by Celtic during the off-season.

The other new players at Phunya Sele Sele are the midfielder Siphelele Luthuli (Ubuntu Cape Town FC), the midfielder Tumiso Mogakwe (Chippa United), winger Sello Matjila (Polokwane City), midfielder Tumelo Njoti (Celtic development player) and the left-back Aviwe Nyamende (Witbank Spurs).

Celtic open their 2019/20 PSL campaign next week Saturday against Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
