The 29-year-old was asymptomatic and immediately went into self-isolation when his test returned positive.

In a short video on the Buccaneers social media platforms, Motshwari, thanked the club and its die-hard fans for the support during his recovery.

“I just want to thank each and every one of you guys that called or texted me in this difficult time which I faced.

“To our medical team and staff Orlando Pirates, I just want to thank you.

“Let’s keep on sanitising, let’s keep on practicing social distancing and wearing our masks in public places so that we can curb the spread of the coronavirus.”

Motshwari became the first and the only player to date in the Premier Soccer League to test positive for the virus.
