Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has paid homage to the fans and legends of the club after winning the English Premiership for the first time in 30-years.

Last night, Chelsea beat Manchester City 2-1 at Stamford Bridge to hand the Reds an unassailable lead at the top of the standings.

Speaking after the game in London, an emotional Klopp lauded the club legends such as Kenny Dalglish, Graeme Souness and Steven Gerrard.

“Thanks to them because this club is built on what they did.

“It is built on Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley and all of the others, and the players especially.

“Steven Gerrard.. .this club is built on the last 20 years on Stevie's legs. He had to carry the pressure on his shoulders and he did an exceptional job.

“I am really happy that we can deliver this title to him as well.”

Meanwhile, the league takes a bit of a backseat this weekend because of the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Saturday night at 18:30, Norwich City host Manchester United and on Sunday at 14:00 Sheffield United face Arsenal, at 17:00 Leicester City take on Chelsea, and at 19:30 Newcastle host Manchester City.
