The FA Cup quarter-finals were played over the weekend and there were wins for Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City.

On Saturday, Nicolas Pépé and Dani Ceballos each found the back of the net as the Gunners beat Sheffield United 2-1.

On Sunday, Odion Ighalo and Harry Maguire scored as United beat Norwich City 2-1.

At the King Power Stadium, a 63rd minute Ross Barkley goal earned Chelsea a 1-0 win over Leicester City.

Chelsea coach, Frank Lampard, says that their substitutions proved to be the difference.

“We lacked urgency and intensity in our play,” said the former Blues midfielder.

“Today we seriously lacked it in the first half, so the three subs were made for impact to try and inject a bit more urgency and a bit more personality.

“We needed to drag ourselves out of what was a lethargic performance and we did do that, to be fair.”

At St. James’ Park, Manchester City, bounced back from their defeat to Chelsea in midweek which saw them concede the English Premiership title to Liverpool. The Citizens book their place in the last four with a 2-0 win over the Magpies.

The draw for the semi-finals was also made on Sunday evening, and Manchester United will face Chelsea, while Arsenal will entertain Manchester City. Both of these games will be played on 18 July at Wembley in London.

Meanwhile, in the English Premiership, Wolves beat Villa 1-0 at Villa Park, and Southampton beat Watford 1-0 at Vicarage Road.
