Both men are legendary former Celtic captains, and over the past year and a half there, coached the Bloemfontein outfit.

Yesterday morning, Seema, resigned from the club in order to take over as the Chippa United coach on a three-year contract.

Late yesterday afternoon Celtic announced that Maduka will take over as the head coach of the team, and Seema told OFM Sport that Phunya Sele Sele is in safe hands.

“It is a little bit emotional for me to see myself leaving Bloemfontein Celtic.

“I believe you have to accept new challenges in order for you to grow.

“However, I know that I am leaving the team in the good and capable hands of coach John Maduka and Simon Gopane.

“I want to thank the management of Bloemfontein Celtic for giving me the opportunity, and one thing that I can say is that I am not leaving in bad blood.

“I am always going to be there if there is any help needed for the team to run smoothly again.

“To the supporters, I want to thank you for supporting the team and supporting us as a young technical team.

“To the team, I wish you all of the best and hope you can go all the way and lift that trophy. That will make me very happy.

“I had one decision to make, and I took it. Hopefully, we can have good results here at Chippa.”

As a player, Maduka donned the famous green-and-white jersey in more than a hundred games.
