Villa out of relegation zone─── MORGAN PIEK 10:03 Wed, 22 Jul 2020
Aston Villa did their plight against relegation a world of favours on Tuesday night when they defeated Arsenal 1 - 0 at Villa Park.
This adds to Arsenal’s temperamental form in the league since the restart.
Manchester City continued their winning ways when they beat Watford 4-0.
The win by Villa sees them move out of the relegation zone for now, while Watford will be under heaps of pressure heading into the final matchday on Saturday. The Hornets' defeat to the Citizens saw them replacing Villa in the danger zone.
The action continues on Wednesday with the battle for European competitions when Manchester United host West Ham at 19:00, and new champions Liverpool host Chelsea, a game which their coach, Jurgen Klopp, says he expects his team to win.
“I don’t have to create some special scenarios.
“You know that it will be difficult, and you think that now it is this moment that Chelsea will win the game and Liverpool will have the trophy lift afterward sanyways.
“I don’t think that we will lose the game. I think that we will be in a proper mood for the game as well.
"But as always, we will have to show it on the pitch.”
The match between the Reds and the Blues at Anfield will kick off at 21:15.
As it is there final home game of the season, Liverpool will officially be crowned as the champions when they are handed the trophy.
