Phunya Sele Sele are raring to go─── MORGAN PIEK 13:15 Tue, 28 Jul 2020
The Premier Soccer League club, Bloemfontein Celtic, are ready to get back out on the park as soon as next weekend.
On Monday afternoon, the chairman of the PSL, Irvin Khoza, confirmed that domestic football will resume the interrupted season on 8 August.
The first two games will be the Nedbank Cup semi-finals with Wits up against Mamelodi Sundowns, while Celtic will lock horns with Baroka FC.
New Celtic head coach, John Maduka, told OFM Sport that it has been a frustrating time, but they are up for the challenge.
“We are looking forward to the coming games, and as you are aware the first game for us is the Nedbank Cup semi-final and that is a very big one for us.
“It is one more step to the final and it is a Cup that we as a club have never won before.
“We are very excited to be going back to what we know best and we are looking forward to this game.
“It has been a challenging time even though we have been training, but there was no-one around that we could play against.
“But at the end of the day, all of the other teams are in the same boat as well.
“It is a very difficult time but we have to make sure that we do whatever we can to prepare the team and go and compete when the games resume.”
The kick-off times and the bio-secure venue is yet to be confirmed.
