The second game of Premier Soccer League resumption will take place this on Wednesday evening when the log-leading Kaizer Chiefs take on Wits.

Ironically, the game will be played at the Orlando Stadium which is the home field of the Amakhosi’s arch-rivals, Orlando Pirates.

A win for the Glamour Boys will see them extend their lead over the defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, to six points.

A win for the Students by two goals or more will see them leapfrog both Maritzburg United and Pirates into third.

Chiefs coach, Ernst Middendorp, admits that he was losing hope, but is delighted to have his team back on the field.

“It’s fantastic, said the former Bloemfontein Celtic tactician.

“In-between I lost a little bit of hope, and I lost the situation to see it coming.

“We love soccer, as coaches, as the technical team, but in particular the players.

“They want to have their games. They want to have their competitive season going ahead in the final stages.

“We are very happy and hopefully well prepared for when we start against Wits.” Meanwhile, the Clever Boys have been boosted with the return of three players for the game.

The midfielder, Thabang Monare, has recovered from a knee injury, the goalkeeper Ricardo Goss has completed his suspension, and the striker Mxoloso Macuphu is available again after he was recently hijacked in Johannesburg.

Kick-off in Soweto is at 18:00 on Wednesday evening.
