The battle of the former Celtic coaches─── MORGAN PIEK 14:00 Tue, 18 Aug 2020
Tuesday nights Premier Soccer League action will see a further three matches being contested.
The games will see three former Bloemfontein Celtic coaches guiding their teams to what they will hope to be their first wins since the sport resumed earlier in August.
At the Orlando Stadium, Chippa United, are hunting for a first win under the guidance of the new coach, Lehlohonolo Seema. They are in action against Highlands Park. Seema left Celtic in June to take over at the Chilli Boys.
Another former Celtic coach, Owen de Gama, has proven in the past that he has firm control of his Lions of the North, and under his guidance, they have become a formidable united.
Over at the FNB Stadium, Wits are up against Steve Komphela’s Golden Arrows. After Komphela left Celtic, Seema, took over the reins at Phunya Sele Sele.
In the final match of the day, Orlando Pirates will host Baroka FC at Ellis Park. The Buccaneers who were contenders before the resumption are yet to score a goal as well.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday night Bloemfontein Celtic will be at home to the league leaders, Kaizer Chiefs, at the Tuks Stadium.
Celtic coach, John Maduka, says that match fitness is an issue, but it will come right.
“We are getting better-and-better. It’s not all that easy, but we still believe that with time it will come right. You can see that at the end of the game, the players are getting tired.
“The match also helps you to get the fitness that you need. We hope that when you play the fourth or fifth game, we will be okay.”
This game will kick-off at 18:00 on Wednesday evening.
