The pressure is on the top three─── MORGAN PIEK 14:00 Wed, 02 Sep 2020
It is round 29 of the Premier Soccer League on Wednesday evening and all 16 teams will be in action.
There is still a matter of the champions being decided and for Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Wits wins tonight will be non-negotiable. While at the negative end of the table, several teams are fighting for survival in the PSL.
The battle between Chiefs and Downs is fierce at the top of the table, while the Clever Boys may just pull off a major upset in their last two games of football in the PSL.
Gavin Hunt’s charges will need a maximum of six points in their last two outings, while they will also need a favour or two from the likes of Chippa United.
Chiefs are up against Chippa on Wednesday, and the Chilli Boys coach Lehlohonolo Seema told OFM Sport that for them every point will be gold.
“We are not even looking at the fact that they lost their last game and that their morale may be low after that defeat.
“At the end of the day, you have to box smart and make sure that we get points. They have got points and are at the top of the league.
“There is a lot of pressure coming behind us. We just want to make sure that we cement our spot in the Premier League for next season.”
Mamelodi Sundowns will face Polokwane City, while the Clever Boys take on Black Leopards.
Bloemfontein Celtic in their turn face Golden Arrows. All of Wednesday night's fixtures kick-off at 18:00.
