In the first game on Saturday the newly promoted Fulham make their long-awaited return to the top flight of English football when they host Arsenal on Saturday at Craven Cottage.

Later in the day, the champions Liverpool host the other returnees, Leeds, and the Reds coach, Jurgen Klopp, is happy with their short preseason.

“Now we have to make sure that we get ready for the first game against Leeds because that will be a really tough one.

“Leeds has a specific style of play with man-marking over the whole pitch, which makes it proper intense.

“We have to be ready for that in a few days.

“Hopefully all of the other boys stay healthy with their national games, and when they come back, we have three days to work on that.

“It was the best preseason that we can have, and we can’t compare it, because nobody will give us a different one.”

On Sunday, the third promoted team, West Bromich Albion, take on Leicester City.
