While Celtic has managed to thrash the Brazilians 5-0 in Pretoria in the past, they did lose both league fixtures and the MTN8 quarter-final to Pitso Mosimane’s charges this season.

Phunya Sele Sele will take some confidence out of the fact their last Cup title was against Downs, way back in 2012.

Celtic coach, John Maduka, says their sole goal for this weekend is silverware.

“It is a different game on a different day. In 2012 it was Telkom Knockout and this is now the Nedbank Cup.

“We have never been in the final before and obviously never won. We are very hungry to win, for ourselves and for the supporters.

“It is a different ball game, they have beaten us three times this season.

“We are aware of how they beat us, going into this one it is different, we must just play according to our plan and try to win, just like we do in any other game.

“In football, you plan to win, but you sometimes get a different result. That is part of the game.”

Saturday’s final at the Orlando Stadium kicks off at 20:00.
