Round two of the English Premiership continues on Monday evening and for last season’s runners-up, Manchester City as well as Aston Villa, it will be their first outing of the campaign.

At 19:00 the action gets underway with Villa at home to Sheffield United in Birmingham.

Then it’s over to the Molineux Stadium where Wolverhampton Wanderers will face the Citizens, but without the services of the striker, Diogo Jota, who moved to Liverpool over the weekend.

The Portuguese marksman believes that the Reds were the best team in the league by some distance last season.

“I think there was no doubt – no doubt about Liverpool being the best team in the league last season by some distance.

“The intensity they put into the game. They were just unbelievable. They were all over the place. It felt like they were playing with more players than the other teams. Hopefully, we can do the same again this year with me being a part of it.

“I want to be one more piece to join those three. That’s what I will do. They are obviously more experienced than me, so the first stage is to connect with them, to learn with them.

“Hopefully I can be a good help for them and the club to win games.”

This game between the Wolves and the Citizens in the West Midlands gets underway at 21:00.
