Bafana target positive results in Rustenburg─── MORGAN PIEK 14:00 Tue, 06 Oct 2020
The national football team, Bafana Bafana, started with their preparations for the international friendly which will be played against Namibia on Thursday in Rustenburg.
On Monday, the team wasn’t able to train due to heavy thunderstorms in the Pilanesberg.
It will be the first time since last year that Bafana plays, largely due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
On Sunday Bafana will be in action in Rustenburg again, but this time they will take on Zambia.
The Bafana defender and captain, Thulani Hlatshwayo, says positive results will be important ahead of their next AFCON qualifier.
“It feels good to be back in the national team after four or five months and knowing very well that we started with the journey to qualify for the 2021 AFCON.
“It is good to see all the guys as well, even though we saw each other in the bio-bubble, but it feels good to back in camp.
“Positive results will be what we are looking forward to. We have faced both teams before and we know what kinds of national teams they are.
“It will be important for us to get positive results as we prepare to face São Tomé in back-to-back matches.”
Thursday night’s game at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium kicks off at 19:00.
