Bloemfontein Celtic will have their work cut out for them when they host SuperSport United on Saturday during the second leg of the MTN8 semi-finals.

On Sunday, during the first leg of the Last 4 fixture, Celtic took the lead at the Lucas Moripe Stadium through a goal by the captain, Ndumiso Mabena.

Five minutes into the second stanza, the man of the match, Gamphani Lungu, equalised for Matsatsantsa A Pitori.

Celtic coach, John Maduka, told OFM Sport that they will take the away goal advantage, but warned that SuperSport are the champions for a reason.

“It is good that we scored a goal and that we have an advantage, but the game is still on.

“We can't relax and think that it is going to be an easy second leg at home.

“SuperSport is one of the good teams and they are the defending champions.

“They will come out to Bloemfontein very strong. One-nil is not a big margin and anything can happen.

“We just need to plan better so that we can be able to win the game and get the results that we want.”

Before the second leg, Celtic will have to deal with Orlando Pirates at home on Wednesday evening in a Premier Soccer League clash.

Following a draw to Golden Arrows and a defeat at the hands of Swallows, the pressure is on Celtic in the league and a first win of the 2020/21 campaign will go a long way in boosting the team's confidence ahead of the cup tie.

As the Buccaneers thumped Kaizer Chiefs 3-0 on Saturday in their MTN8 semi-final first leg, Celtic, couldn’t have asked for a better match to prepare for the decider in Bloemfontein.

The two teams face each other on Saturday afternoon at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein in the second leg.
