Phunya Sele Sele booked their spot in a second successive cup final after they beat SuperSport United 1-0 on Saturday during the second leg of the semi-finals at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein.

Pirates in their turn beat Kaizer Chiefs 2-0 in the Soweto derby for a 5-0 aggregate over their bitter rivals.

Celtic coach, John Maduka, says this time they think that they can lift their first piece of silverware since 2012.

“The most important thing is that we are in the final, and we are looking forward to it.

“It is a cup final and anything can happen in a cup final.

“This is our second cup final in a short period of time and we have learnt from the Nedbank Cup final.

“This time we think that it is going to be a different story.”

In September, Celtic lost 1-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup final. During the quarter-finals of the MTN8, Celtic eliminated the very same Sundowns, while SuperSport were the defending MTN8 champions.

The Premier Soccer League is yet to confirm the date and venue of the MTN8 final.
