It is going to be very interesting - Maduka─── MORGAN PIEK 15:15 Wed, 11 Nov 2020
The Premier Soccer League club, Bloemfontein Celtic, is happy with their draw for the preliminary round of the CAF Confederations Cup which will be played at the end of the month.
Celtic will be travelling to Kindu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo for their ice-breaker against a tricky AS Maniema Union.
As it will be the first time that Celtic is actually playing in an international competition, the excitement is mounting in the Phunya Sele Sele camp.
Celtic coach, John Maduka, told OFM Sport that it will be an interesting experience.
“We are going to the Confederations Cup and we are looking forward to it.
“It is the first time that we are going to be competing in the competition.
“It is going to be very interesting because it will be a new and different environment altogether.
“We hope that everything will go according to plan and we will try everything in our power to compete on this big stage.”
Celtic qualified for their first African excursion by virtue of reaching the final of the Nedbank Cup, where they lost 1-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns at the Orlando Stadium.
The first leg tie will be contested during the weekend of 27 to 29 November.
