Celtic en route to the DRC─── MORGAN PIEK 14:00 Thu, 26 Nov 2020
The Premier Soccer League club, Bloemfontein Celtic, departed for the Democratic Republic of the Congo on Wednesday for their maiden match in the CAF Confederations Cup.
Last night Celtic recorded their first PSL win of the season with a 1-0 win over Black Leopards, in a match that was rescheduled due to Phunya Sele Sele’s continental commitments.
Celtic made use of two squads, one which played last night, with the other having departed for the DRC earlier in the day.
Celtic coach, John Maduka, confirmed that he will not be travelling to the DRC for the match and his two assistants, Abram Nteo and Simon Gopane, will be taking charge of the team.
Maniema Union and Celtic will lock horns at 15:00 on Sunday afternoon in Kindu in the first of two legs in the preliminary round.
Celtic will only be returning to South Africa on 3 December.
The following week the two teams will clash at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein.
