Bafana and Black Stars share points─── MORGAN PIEK 09:11 Fri, 26 Mar 2021
Bafana Bafana and Ghana shared points on Thursday night by playing to a one-all draw against Ghana in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at Soccer City.
The deadlock was broken in the 49th minute when Mohammed Kudus found the back of the net for the Black Stars.
Three minutes later, the man of the match, Percy Tau, equalised for South Africa.
South Africa and Ghana both move up to 10 points in Group C, but the West Africans still enjoy a one-goal difference.
Bafana coach, Molefi Ntseki, said that they have a plan for Sudan on Sunday.
"In football, there's something very interesting, if you look we had more possession, very good opportunities but unfortunately we ended up with a draw and I think going to Sudan it's for them to lose.
"Because they will be coming at us and we already have a plan for that, they have to play to win, a draw is not going to help them."
Bafana now face Sudan at the Al-Hilal Stadium in Omdurman on Sunday for a must-win match. For South Africa to book their ticket to the finals in Cameroon they need to win and finish the group with at least two more goals than Ghana.
